The owners of Kager commenced activities in the Airbrake market in South Africa in January 1991, at which time they distributed products, procured from both Knorr Bremse and Wabco. Early in the 21st century, the Airbrake Market in South Africa went through a major change.
Other international manufacturers of Airbrake products introduced their products into the South African Market at significantly lower prices than those offered by suppliers at the time. To serve the South African customers with this newly available and wider range of Airbrake Products, it was decided to launch the company into this newly created area in the Airbrake Market.
Simultaneously, an international manufacturer of Air-springs franchised their product through Kager. In other to serve the growing customer base, the company is continually developing a branch network. Providing both product and technical backup at these locations.
